Monkey Sports Player of the Month - February

by Bombers Staff

The Monkey Sports Long Beach Bombers Player of the Month, for February, is forward, Diego Glück. The 1999-born team captain hails from Selva di Val Gardena, Italy. Glück finished the month with a stat line of 10GP-4G-9A-13Pts.

The former Italian World Juniors Champion has recorded 60 points in his first year of junior hockey in North America. He is 5th on the team in scoring, after recording 5 multiple-point efforts in February. His 11 Even Strength Points were tops for the club, in the month of February. Glück plays a grown man’s game, and is on the ice in every possible situation, for Long Beach. The captain was riding an 8-game point streak, through the first 2 games of February; 7 of those games, he tallied more than one point.

Now, Glück will set his eyes on an important month of March, which includes the start of the WSHL’s Thorne Cup Playoffs. The Bombers recently clinched their third-consecutive Western Division Regular Season Title, and are set to host the Second Round of Divisional Playoffs, March 21-23, in Lakewood. The Division Championship would follow, one week later, should the Bombers advance.

Long Beach Bombers Head Coach & General Manager, Chris White, commented, “Diego excels in the thankless areas of the game. He does a lot of little things that help his linemates and teammates, and ultimately, help us win games. He can move up and down the lineup, and he logs a lot of minutes on special teams. Diego leads by example, and is a very hard-working, respectful young man. I am really looking forward to seeing how he handles the playoff stretch."

Special thanks to Monkey Sports for sponsoring the Bombers Player of the Month Award, and for their continued support of the organization and its players!
