Korolev Joins 100 Club With 2-Point Effort

by Bombers Staff

Second-year forward, Artem Korolev, became the 14th Long Beach Bombers player to reach the 100-point mark for their career, last night.  In what was a thrilling 5-4 Shootout victory over the 2018 Thorne Cup Champion El Paso Rhinos, Korolev recorded 1G-1A.  The 18 year-old from Moscow, Russia finished last season as the team's 3rd leading scorer, finishing with 85 Points.  This season, he has 5G-10A in his first 9 Games Played.  Despite going pointless in back-to-back games, last weekend, Korolev got his number 27 back on the scoresheet, with his 99th and 100th points.

Korolev has been astonishingly consistent, having endured back-to-back scoreless performances just twice in his career. Interestingly enough, both of those streaks were in late-October, with the second game falling on October 27.  Korolev blazed through his rookie campaign, and his season culminated with being honored as a member of the 2018 Thorne Cup All-Star Team.  Korolev recorded his 100th Point in his 62nd Game Played.  The feat makes him the 4th-fastest to 100 career points, after Long Beach standouts Filip Martinec, Anders Romegård, and Anton Bowallius.

Congratulations to Artem, and special thanks to Centennial Advisers for sponsoring The Long Beach Bombers 100 Club!
