Bombers Add Speedy Canadian Daigneault

by Bombers Staff

The Long Beach Bombers are proud to announce the signing of Canadian forward, Will Daigneault. The 5’10, 160lb right shot hails from Port Alberni, British Columbia. Daigneault was born on May 7, 1998. He is in his fourth season of junior hockey, and first in the United States.

Daigneault has 124 career junior games under his belt. Over the past season and a half, Daigneault has recorded 19G-29A and 254PIMs, in 62 games played. As a 16 year-old, he played for the North Okanagan Knights in the KIJHL. Since then, he has played exclusively in the VIJHL (Vancouver Island Jr B Hockey League), for the Oceanside Generals and two stints with the Comox Valley Glacier Kings. The VIJHL is one of the top feeder leagues for the BCHL, and has a strong history of players moving back and forth, between the two. In 2017-2018, Daigneault was on a point-per-game pace, which was good for 30th in the league. His 73 PIMs placed him at 14th in the VIJHL.

Long Beach Bombers Head Coach & General Manager, Chris White, commented, “We are very excited to add Will to our talented group of forwards. This signing has been a long time in the making, and is a great shot in the arm, heading into the WSHL Showcase. I think Will is going to immediately make us a faster team, and I anticipate he will bring a physical edge that compliments our European finesse. We have been very pleased with the recent additions of Erik Ehrmantraut and Tyler Browning, both of whom have given us a boost in the physicality department; I think Will has the ability to give our forecheck a little more bang. It’s always a good day when you can add a top-9 forward, at this point in the season, without giving anything up.”
