Bombers Active Heading Into Showcase
The Long Beach Bombers are proud to announce the acquisition of Canadian defenseman, Connor Mullins. The August 19, 1998-born left shot is from Toronto, Ontario. He stands 6’0, 195lbs, and is in his second year of junior hockey. Mullins recorded a stat line of 7GP-2G-2A with the El Paso Rhinos, to start the season. The Bombers acquired Mullins’ rights from the Rhinos, shortly after trading defenseman, Michael Hodgkinson (pictured below), to the Southern Oregon Spartans.
Last season, Mullins suited up for both the Strathroy Rockets and Pelham Panthers, in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. Prior to beginning his junior career, the rearguard played Midget AAA hockey for the Central Ontario Wolves and Oshawa Generals. Mullins should make his Bombers debut against the team’s biggest rivals - the Valencia Flyers, on Saturday, December 9. Then, he will head to Las Vegas, along with his new teammates, for the WSHL Shootout, on December 19-21. The Bombers will face the Colorado Jr. Eagles, Utah Outliers, and Mullins’ former team, the El Paso Rhinos.
Long Beach Bombers Head Coach and General Manager, Chris White, commented, “Bringing in Connor gives us a lot of options, and flexibility, within our lineup. Defensive depth is one of those things that you can never have enough of, over the course of a long junior season. Connor possesses a heavy shot, and is a big body. This addition is going to immediately increase competition within our locker room, which will be great for our group. We have not been playing up to our potential, specifically, on the back-end. I expect Connor to step in and push our defensive group to a new level, in terms of competitiveness. I know Connor is excited to get to Long Beach and step on the ice, and we are certainly happy to have him.”
